Fat makes you fat, butter is unhealthy, olive oil is a lifesaver – and coconut oil is supposedly a miracle cure. Hardly any other nutrient polarises opinion as much as fat. But what is really true? In this episode, Peer Kittel and student Jule Wäntig talk to food chemist Prof. Thomas Henle about the role of fat in our diet. We explain why fat does not automatically make you fat, why animal fats are not generally less healthy than vegetable fats, and why trans fatty acids are less problematic today than many people think.
