From October 6 to 10, 2025, the first International Symposium and subsequent Autumn School entitled "Chemistry, Physics & Devices of Organic 2D Crystals" will take place at the Penck Hotel Dresden. Over 120 participants from various countries are expected to attend.

The three-day symposium (October 6-8 ) will bring together renowned scientists and young researchers from all over the world to present and discuss current progress and future developments in the field of organic 2D crystals. A wide range of interdisciplinary topics from the fields of chemistry, physics, materials science, nanoscience and engineering will be covered. The scientific program includes more than 30 lectures as well as two poster exhibitions with 50 contributions each, offering early-career researchers in particular a platform to present their work. The conference will be complemented by a supporting program with a welcome reception, networking evening with conference dinner and a guided city tour through Dresden's old town.

Following this, the two-day Autumn School (October 9-10) is aimed specifically at PhD and Master's students. It offers seven thematically coordinated tutorials, discussion rounds and practice-oriented exchange. A special highlight is the skills training "From Academia to Industry", run by Heidi Störr (Push Your Career - Career Consultancy), which provides insights into career prospects outside academia. In addition, a career fair will provide an opportunity to make contact with potential employers.

The event is organized by the Collaborative Research Center 1415.
