Are you from Dresden and interested in getting to know people from all over the world and exchanging perspectives? Get involved as a buddy for international researchers.
The Buddy Project brings international researchers in Dresden together with Dresden locals for an intercultural exchange in a friendly atmosphere. We want researchers to have an enjoyable time, get to know locals and find a confidant for everyday questions, while locals get the opportunity to interact with researchers from all over the world who are driving scientific progress.
How it works - in 3 simple steps
Sign up: Fill out a short form so we can get to know you and your interests.
Match: We match you with a suitable person based on common interests and practical needs.
Meet: Get to know each other casually - over a coffee, on a walk or at events. You set the pace.

We offer an introductory workshop on intercultural communication for participants in the Buddy Project (on January 26, 2026) - a short, practical session on communication styles and typical misunderstandings. Participation is free and recommended, but not compulsory.
What you can expect:
- Getting to know culturally influenced communication patterns and typical German customs
- Reflection on common misunderstandings in everyday work and life
- Short, interactive exercises and realistic case studies
