TUneD into Medical Science: Nobel Laureate Prof. Thomas Südhof visits the Faculty of Medicine of TU Dresden
In October, the Faculty of Medicine at TU Dresden is launching a new series of events entitled “TUneD into Medical Science”. The aim is to bring renowned medical prizewinners to the Faculty for an intensive scientific exchange. The events offer insights into current research work as well as the opportunity for young researchers to discuss their own topics and gain valuable inspiration.
Nobel laureate Prof. Thomas C. Südhof, German-American biochemist and neuroscientist, will kick off the series. His research focuses on synapses as fundamental switching points of the nervous system. Together with his colleagues Randy W. Schekman and James E. Rothman, Südhof was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2013 for his discoveries of transport processes in cells.
From October 9 to 11, there will be numerous opportunities to get to know him and his work better and to exchange ideas with him.
