Philipp Alexander Grzywaczyk
Since October 2023, I am a research fellow and PhD student at the Institut for Algebra in the research group of Prof. Dr. Manuel Bodirsky within the project POCOCOP (ERC Synergy Grant). My research interests are algebraic and model-theoretic methods in the study of complexity of constraint satisfaction problems.
I completed my Bachelor's degree at the University of Bonn in 2021. Afterwards, I did my Master's in Computer Mathematics at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. I wrote my thesis under the supervision of Dr. Arne Winterhof at RICAM, investigating the existence of primitive elements of finite fields outside of affine hyperplanes.

Book Recommendations
- The Weil Conjectures: On Maths and the Pursuit of the Unknown (Karen Olsson) - A wonderfully written, semi-biographical book about the siblings André and Simone Weil. Illuminates both the mathematical work of André Weil (Bourbaki, Weil conjectures and modularity conjecture) and the endeavours and writings of Simone Weil, in a very well readable, narrative style.
