Tutors and proofreaders wanted!
The Institute of Mathematical Stochastics is looking for your help in teaching.
We are looking for tutors and proofreaders for each semester - contracts are usually agreed at the end of the previous semester.
We would like to introduce you to these activities in more detail below:
Tutor contract
Profile:
You lead an exercise group in which you present solutions to homework assignments and help your fellow students to understand the material taught.
Details:
A contract has a duration of one semester (approx. 3 1/2 months) and
5 hours per week (generally 90 minutes in the seminar room, the rest for preparation).
Several contracts are possible. Payment according to SHk rates of TU Dresden.
Possible courses:
- Mathematics for Electrical Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Renewable Energy Systems
Alternating topics: Algebraic and analytical basics (1st semester), multidimensional differential and integral calculus (2nd semester),
Function theory (3rd semester),
Probability theory, partial differential equations (4th semester) - Statistics for Social Sciences
Topic: Computer-aided multivariate data analysis - Statistics for hydrologists
Topic: Introduction to statistics - Stochastics
Bachelor Mathematics in Business and Economics, 2nd year of study
The TUTORING team at the Center for Continuing Education offers various qualification courses for (new) tutors to prepare them adequately for their work as tutors.

Tutor contract
Profile:
You correct the exercises of the course participants. You will be provided with templates/sample solutions by the exercise assistants.
Details:
A contract has a duration of one semester (approx. 3 1/2 months) and
5 hours of correction time per week. Several contracts are possible.
Payment according to SHk rates of the TU Dresden.
Possible courses:
Stochastics - Bachelor Mathematics in Business and Economics, 2nd year of study
Crediting in the AQUA module
Working as a tutor or corrector offers you the opportunity to
- to develop personally,
- gain experience in teaching and presentation techniques and
- refresh and deepen your own knowledge of mathematics.
In addition, depending on the study regulations, students studying for a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics in Business and Economics may be able to have their tutoring work credited to the AQUA module in their 3rd year of study: Tutors who additionally participate in a
basic qualification or an in-depth workshop for specialist tutors of the ZfW, will receive 2 or 4 SWS respectively for 5 or 7.5 hours of weekly working time according to the employment contract credited to the AQUA module.
