Snow Seminar in Nová Ves nad Nisou

participants of the SNOW seminar 2025
This year's SNOW seminar took place from March 23 to 28, 2025 in Nová Ves nad Nisou, Czech Republic. 16 participants from three different institutes of TU Dresden as well as three external participants were able to make new contacts over the course of a week and familiarize themselves with topics outside their everyday horizons. The participants
- examined the possibilities of the modern language Rust in the context of scientific simulations
- discussed stochastic differential equations from the perspectives of physics, stochastics and numerics
- implemented a rendering pipeline in Blender for the visualization of moving surfaces and simulation data on them
- discussed and implemented various open topics in the context of the Dune module dune-functions, in particular an abstract framework for the description of multi-domain methods was implemented.
Overall, we look back on a seminar that allowed us to dive into new topics and strengthen the connections within the scientific computing community in Dresden and beyond.
We would like to thank the Förderverein für Mathematik zu Dresden e.V. and the Faculty of Mathematics at TU Dresden for their support.
