Partial Differential Equations (MA-ANAPDE)
- lecturer:
Prof. Dr. Stefan Neukamm - time and place:
Mo. 1 - 2.30 pm, WIL A124
Thu. 1 - 2.30 pm, WIL C129
Exercises within the lecture. - Content:
In this lecture we give an introduction to partial differential equations with a focus on weak solutions to second-order elliptic and parabolic equations. In particular, we discuss the definition and properties of Sobolev spaces. - Preliminaries:
We require basic knowledge in analysis (e.g. Lebesgue spaces, integration on a manifold). Some knowledge in functional analysis is helpful, but not necessary to follow the course. - Language:
german and english on request - Texbooks:
- L. C. Evans: Partial Differential Equations
- H.W. Alt: Funktionalanalysis
- H. Brezis: Functional Analysis, Sobolev Spaces and Partial Differential Equations
- B. Schweizer: Partielle Differentialgleichungen
