Self-propelled microswimmers: resolving hydrodynamic interactions with the AMDiS toolbox. Vortragender: Mirko Residori Abstract: In this talk, we present simulations of microswimmers modeled as squirmers. A phase-field approach is employed to approximate the swimmer body, while the finite element method is used to capture hydrodynamic interactions between the swimmer and surrounding obstacles. The first part focuses on the underlying physics, whereas the second part presents technical details of implementing the governing equations with the AMDiS toolbox. In particular, we show how to correctly implement global constraints in MPI-safe manner, allowing for large scale simulations. |
