Advanced imaging and scattering
Innovate, Discover, Explore—Welcome to AIMS!
Within the DRESDEN concept alliance, Prof. J. Geck, Prof. A. Lubk and Prof. B. Büchner have founded a new groundbreaking joint laboratory of IFMP and IFW Dresden: The laboratory for Advanced Imaging and Scattering (AIMS). At the forefront of scientific exploration, AIMS brings together a team of distinguished Principal Investigators, who combine their expertise in order break new ground in experimental condensed matter research:
- Prof. Axel Lubk: Electron Optics
- Prof. Jochen Geck: X-ray scattering and spectroscopy
- Prof. Rudi Hackl: Raman scattering
Our laboratory, which is also embedded in and supported by our cluster of excellence ct.qmat, is equipped with powerful experimental facilities, offering a truely outstanding platform for cutting-edge research. At present we are running the following facilities within AIMS:
AIMS is not just a laboratory; it's a crucible of discovery meant to push the boundaries of condensed matter research. At AIMS we explore new quantum materials hosting interacting electrons, novel magnetic states of matter and topological electron systems.
