Our research group offers various topics for bachelor and master thesis projects. All of them comprise a technical development and/or experimental study in the field of quantum materials at low temperature, in high pressure and high magnetic fields.
Typical topics include
- Unconventional superconductivity
- Magnetic and non-magentic topological metals and semimetals
- Unconventional orders in correlated electron systems
- Interplay of different ordered states
- Quantum magnets
Experimental techniques used in these projects are
- Thermal conductivity at very low temperature as well as at intermediate temperatures
- Ac-susceptibiltity down to 30 mK, under strain, under pressure and in high magnetic fields
- High-sensitivity quantum oscillation detection
- Electrical resistivity on bulk and microstructured samples
- Determination of phase diagrams
- Technical development of a new setup
