PhD Position Available!
We are seeking a talented and motivated researcher in the field of Scattering and Spectroscopy of Novel Quantum Materials!
Your role:
Join us working at the forefront of quantum materials research. We have recently established state-of-the-art experimental facilities to investigate quantum materials using x-ray diffraction, x-ray spectroscopy, and Raman scattering. Your primary task will be to utilize these advanced tools to study quantum spin liquid materials under varying temperature and elastic tuning conditions. The goal is to uncover new collective states of matter, clarify the interaction between lattice and electrons, and test theoretical models. In addition to conducting experiments at our Institute, you will have opportunities to work at world-class research facilities such as free-electron lasers and synchrotron radiation centers.
You will be part of the Chair of Physics of Quantum Materials and contribute to the Collaborative Research Center 1143, both of which offer an excellent environment for cutting-edge research. Active collaboration with associated research groups is encouraged, and you will also co-supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis projects related to your work.
Our offer:
- Position: Research Associate / PhD Student (m/f/x)
- Start: As soon as possible
- Employment: 75% of full-time weekly hours, with an initial contract of 3 years and a possibility of extension
Your profile:
- A strong Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Physics
- Passion for fundamental research
- Team player with organizational skills
- Proficient in English
- Ideally, experience with advanced x-ray techniques
