We study classical and quantum aspects of chaotic systems using analytical and numerical tools.
A central goal are the fingerprints of classically chaotic dynamics in quantum mechanics, e.g.
- statistical properties of energy levels
- structure of eigenfunctions
- tunneling in phase space
- theory for experimental applications: 
 micro wave billiards, optical micro lasers, ultra-cold gases
Specific research topics are e.g.
- chaos in higher-dimensional systems
- structure of eigenfunctions in open systems
- tunneling in systems with a mixed phase space
- 
non-equilibrium states in time-periodically driven systems
