Abstract: Coupling quantum systems whose dynamics is already chaotic provides an interesting range of universal behaviors. The subsystem spectra are interesting in as much as they determine the entanglement in eigenstates. This talk explores the range of possibilities for the entanglement, from power-laws and the stable Levy distribution in the perturbative regime, to the more well-understood statistics governed by random matrix theory in the strong coupling regime. Along the way entropies and distance to the nearest maximally entangled states are calculated and compared with those from a dynamical systems model of coupled and kicked rotors.
