This project theoretically investigates signatures of unconventional magnetic phases and quantum-spin-liquid states in frustrated local-moment systems, as observable through elementary excitations, transport, and quantum critical behavior. To this end, using numerical as well as analytical tools of many-body physics, the project will be concerned with (i) energy- and thermal current-correlation functions in spin liquids, (ii) spin-phonon scattering in heat transport in magnetic fields, (iii) excitations and spectroscopy in frustrated dimer magnets, (iv) field-driven quantum phase transitions in frustrated magnets, and (v) magnetic excitations near spin-glass quantum criticality.
