The goal of the project is the synthesis of high-quality single crystals, and the characterization thereof, of magnetic Weyl semimetals, especially Heusler compounds and related structures. The versatile Heusler materials allow for various lattice structures as well as magnetic orderings. With their tunable band structure, the Hall conductivity and Fermi energy can be adjusted to obtain giant anomalous Hall angles. In addition, thin-film samples of Weyl materials will be prepared.
