Non-Physics Supplement: Master of Physics
The Non-Physics Supplement module in the Master of Physics programme offers a choice of 12 different supplements with 25 different topics in total. There is a wide choice of courses or modules for each supplement. Depending on the chosen supplement, there is also the possibility to choose between different subtopics.
The total amount of credits given is 13, which are usually earned over a period of 2 semesters, from lectures, tutorials, seminars, or practical courses comprising a total of 8 SWS (semester hours per week). The start of the module (winter/summer semester, or either), as well as the language of instruction, German (D) or English (E) depend on the choice of supplement and topic. Generally, if not otherwise specified, the following points apply to all minor selections:
- The module exam consists of 2 or 3 course assessments
- The module grade will be established from the individual grade of each exmination weighted 1:1(:1) using all assessments of the module
- All oral exams are conducted in German or English, at the student's discretion.
- All written examinations take place in the language of instruction.
- If a module grade yields "not passed", instead of repeating the exam, also another topic and/or another minor can be chosen.
Detailed information regarding classes, curriculum, prerequisites, assessments/exams, grading, etc. can be found in the study catalogue.
Registration: For all exams (PL) and exam prerequisites (PVL) during the first two months of the respective term (Winter Semester: October and November, Summer Semester: April and Mai) a mandatory registration has to occur through HISQIS, for which these special regulations hold.
