Digitale Transformation smart gestalten

More about the GBU-SmarD project
The project started in 2022 with the aim of creating (1) a risk assessment of the stressors associated with smart devices and (2) a catalog of work design solutions.
In the first project step, the requirements for the humane design of work with smart devices were collected in a scoping review. These requirements are assigned to the areas of employees, social relationships, work tasks, work equipment, work organization and work equipment.
Studies also noted that preventive work design for smart devices begins before a device is purchased. For example, there should be a specific goal for the procurement of a device. The needs of the employees, the characteristics of their work tasks and where the smart devices are used should also be taken into account. Companies usually aim to make work easier by purchasing a device. However, this also creates new risks and performance requirements for employees, such as a high volume of information. These risks must also be assessed prospectively.
Together with findings from practical experience gained through focus groups, the project was expanded. The acquisition of devices and their introduction process in the company should receive more support.
In order to achieve a high level of applicability and user-friendliness, design criteria for the guide to action were derived in a design sprint.
The findings from the scoping review, focus groups and design sprint are currently being implemented in a four-part guide. This consists of aids for: "Device and software selection", "Introduction process in the company", "Risk assessment" and "Measures in the form of solution spaces"
The project has been running since 2022 and is due to be completed in 2025.
We are currently testing the risk assessment! If you are a work and safety specialist or company interested in a risk assessment of a smart device, you can now try out the risk assessment for your workplace.
