Alumni stands for work with students and graduates of the TU Dresden with the aim of a lifelong contact between the university and its current and former students in mutual benefit.

The Latin word "alumni" (plural of alumnus) means "student" - it is also used internationally to refer to students and graduates of universities or similar educational institutions.
