Abstract
Within the framework of embodied cognition, the studies I will present address the optimization of word memorization strategies. The first study examines the impact of mental imagery on memory performance, by comparing different memorization instructions that vary in their degree of embodiment. The second study investigates the effects of enactment on foreign language word learning among university students. Finally, the third study aims to assess the effectiveness of an embodied approach to learning the phonology of a foreign language among middle school students.
