A Special Final Team Meeting: Farewell to Prof. Dr. Jürgen Wegge
A Group Farewell in the Countryside: Members of the Work and Organizational Psychology team on a short outing to the wine-growing region of Saxony.
During our most recent team meeting, we looked back on our time with Prof. Dr. Jürgen Wegge and bid farewell to our long-time chairholder in a very special atmosphere.
Since his appointment to TU Dresden in 2007, Prof. Dr. Jürgen Wegge has played a pivotal role in shaping the Chair of Work and Organizational Psychology for nearly two decades. To wrap things up, we took a short outing together and reflected on the past years over a glass of Saxon wine—the farewell to Saxony could hardly have been more fitting.
A special moment was the presentation of a “Life Research Report” compiled specifically for this occasion. Modeled after the annual research reports that Prof. Wegge authored with great dedication alongside his team for many years, the report looks back on key milestones in his professional career. It brings together projects, publications, and milestones from research, teaching, and the promotion of early-career researchers, but above all, it includes personal memories, shared experiences, and hopes for the future from numerous current and former colleagues.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Wegge for his tremendous dedication and for having shaped the Chair—as well as its research and teaching—in such a special way. He has impressively demonstrated his ability to successfully translate scientific insights into practice through his own leadership role. This makes us all the more confident that he will succeed in this regard with another topic he has explored academically: a healthy transition into retirement.
For this new chapter in his life, we wish him good health, joy, and plenty of time for family, friends, and all the pursuits that may have taken a back seat during his daily life at the university.
