First Central German AOW Colloquium in Mittweida: Successful presentations and lively discussions
On 14 June 2024, the first Central German Work, Organizational and Business Psychology Colloquium took place in Mittweida, after 15 years of being held as the Saxon AOW Colloquium of the professorships in Dresden, Chemnitz, Leipzig and Görlitz. This year, the circle of participants was expanded to include the Chair of Work, Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Jena, which meant that an even broader spectrum of scientific perspectives was represented. The event marked an important step in the cooperation and networking of the regional research landscape.
Our professorship was strongly represented by four members of staff, who presented their current projects in three talks. Ms. Maria Thissen presented a meta-analysis on leadership and diversity, Ms. Lena Marie Uhlmann another meta-analysis on loneliness during the corona pandemic, and Ms. Theresa Falter and Ms. Tanja Strukelj an innovation study in the textile industry in Bangladesh. These presentations were met with great interest and led to lively discussions.
The presentations were followed by two guided discussion rounds on the topics of statistics/science communication and paths into science. These rounds offered participants the opportunity to engage in intensive discussions and benefit from the experience and expertise of those present. We would like to thank Professor Zill and his team for the successful organization of the event and are already looking forward to the next MAOK 2025 in Leipzig.
