Lena Marie Uhlmann successfully defends her dissertation
Prof. Dr. Jürgen Wegge congratulates Lena Marie Uhlmann on successfully defending her dissertation.
We extend our warmest congratulations to Mrs. Lena Marie Uhlmann on the successful completion of her doctoral dissertation, titled: “Loneliness and Well-Being During Life-Changing Events: Is There a Social Cure in Times of a Pandemic and of Job Change?”
Mrs. Uhlmann successfully conducted a total of four studies on these questions—even during the COVID-19 pandemic! As one reviewer notes: “[...] this outstanding dissertation makes a significant theoretical and empirical contribution to ‘social cure’ research and is distinguished by a remarkable breadth of the literature reviewed as well as by an in-depth theoretical integration of the relevant models.” Methodologically, the dissertation is exceptionally strong. It includes a large-scale, comprehensive meta-analysis with an innovative link to objective indicators of the pandemic’s course, a cross-sectional survey with a large, representative sample, and a pre-registered longitudinal field study with three measurement time points and a control group.”
The promising results were skillfully presented and discussed on June 29. The truly impressive doctoral cap also illustrates what this work was about and that publications have already emerged from it!
The entire AO team is proud of these achievements!
