Research Award in Biopsychology 2025 for Dr. Christa Müller-Axt
Dr. Christa Müller-Axt was honored with the 2025 Research Award in Biopsychology by the Biopsychology and Neuropsychology Section of the German Psychological Society (DGPs).
The award recognizes outstanding scientific work by early-career researchers in the area of biological psychology that makes a significant contribution to the field.
The award ceremony took place on June 21, 2025, during the 50th symposium “Psychology and Brain” in Würzburg and was personally presented by Prof. Dr. Tina Lonsdorf (University of Bielefeld) on behalf of the section leadership.
Dr. Müller-Axt was awarded for her research work, employing innovative high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), to uncover, for the first time, thalamic brain dysfunction in developmental dyslexia. The results of her work were recently published in the renowned journal Brain: TUD's press release.
