Our new paper: Motion area V5/MT involved in speech recognition
In Jeschke et al., 2023, we show that the cortical area V5/MT plays a causal role in recognizing visual speech, shedding light on the neural mechanisms behind human communication. The study, using noninvasive brain stimulation (TMS), showed a reduction of non-biological motion recognition as well as visual speech recognition when area V5/MT was inhibited.
