Prof. Dr. Anna-Lena Zietlow and Jana Ray at the "2nd Munich International Symposium on The Role of Parental Psychopathology and (E-health) Preventive Interventions"
Prof. Dr. Anna-Lena Zietlow and our PhD student Jana Ray participated in the "2nd Munich International Symposium on The Role of Parental Psychopathology and (E-health) Preventive Interventions" in Munich from 14-15 September.
Prof. Dr. Anna-Lena Zietlow opened with a symposium chaired by her on the transition to parenthood. She presented initial results from the NeMo study, which is investigating whether mothers with bonding problems can improve bonding with their child with the help of fMRI neurofeedback training.
This was followed by fascinating keynote presentations from international experts such as Prof. Brandon Gibb (Binghamton University, New York), Prof. Bruce Compas (Vanderbilt University, Nashville), Prof. Heleen Riper (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) and Prof. Maree Teesson (Matilda Centre, Sydney), who provided insights into their fascinating research and gave important impulses to discussions.
A highlight of the conference were the presentations of lived-experience experts (www.mentalhealthcrowd.de) who shared their personal experiences with mental health. They provided particularly valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities related to parental psychopathology and preventive interventions from the perspective of affected parents and children.
