Our Team at IACAPAP 2026 in Hamburg

From July 1–4, 2026, the 27th World Congress of the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions (IACAPAP) took place in Hamburg, Germany. The international congress brings together researchers and professionals from child and adolescent psychiatry and related disciplines to discuss current research findings and new perspectives on the mental health of children, adolescents, and families.
Our PhD students, Eva Bütow and Lea Wölflein, together with our research intern Caitie Campbell, also participated in IACAPAP 2026 and presented their current research projects.
Lea Wölflein chaired the symposium “S-036 The Dynamics of Parenting: Psychological, Biological, and Relational Pathways Across Development.” Within this symposium, co-chair Eva Bütow presented her talk on the central importance of partnership quality for parenting stress among parents experiencing mental health difficulties during the peripartum period.
In addition, Lea Wölflein presented findings from one of her dissertation projects in the symposium “From Genes to Families: Integrating Biological and Environmental Pathways in Socio-Emotional and Neurodevelopment.” Her presentation focused on socio-emotional development in children in the context of peripartum depression and anxiety disorders and the role of early physiological synchrony.
Participating in IACAPAP 2026 provided numerous insightful presentations, valuable discussions, and new impulses for future research.
