Since the beginning of 2023, Lea Krumpholtz has supported the professorship of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology, starting in 2024 as a PhD student. In her research, she is primarily interested in transmission factors of parental psychopathologies, especially the role of early parent-child interactions. She is investigating behavioral as well as physiological and endocrinological measures and their potential to function as early indicators of child development.

- Transmission factors of parental psychopathology, especially peripartum mental disorders
- Early parent-child interaction
- Measures of synchrony during social interactions in infancy, especially physiological measures such as heart rate variability
- Multimodal indicators of child development during early parent-infant interactions
