Katharina Förster completed her B.Sc., M.Sc. and PhD in Psychology at the University of Münster, with funded research stays in New Zealand and Ireland. In 2019, she started a postdoctoral position at the Technical University of Dresden. Since June 2023, she has been leading her own research group - the Interpersonal Dynamics in Early Affective Disorders Laboratory (IDEA-Lab).
In her research, she investigates socio-emotional and socio-cognitive mechanisms in the life course of affective disorders as well as compassion-based interventions. Using neuroscientific findings and machine learning approaches, she develops new hypotheses for symptom-specific therapies and training.
I support the Open Science Initiative of the Faculty of Psychology.
