Information about the basic studies
The basic studies impart on the one hand methodological principles and procedures of the field and on the other hand the basics of psychology. In addition, there is a broad interdisciplinary education - especially in mathematics (statistics), computer science and foreign languages.

Information on the main course of study
The main course of study comprises two application subjects studied in depth, the subjects research and evaluation research as well as diagnostics and intervention, the research or profession-oriented specialization and a non-psychological elective subject.

Information about studying abroad
Especially for psychology students of the TU Dresden, exchange places at the University of Texas are available every year. Negotiations are currently underway to establish an ERASMUS exchange place with the University of Bern. In addition, study abroad opportunities can be inquired about and organized through the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service).

Courses
Since the diploma program in psychology is a discontinued program, there is no regular course program for it. Courses of other psychology programs, which can also be attended by diploma students, are activated in jExam for enrollment. If additional courses have to be attended or services have to be rendered, it is necessary to coordinate these with the respective professorship.

Internship
According to the study regulations and on the recommendation of the study reform commission, a study-accompanying professional internship is to be carried out in the diploma program in psychology at the Technical University of Dresden.
The aim of the internship is to combine psychological theoretical knowledge with professional practice. The internship should enable the student to orientate himself/herself exemplarily in psychological practice in different professional fields, to practice psychological working techniques under guidance and to relate future professional practice and scientific basics of the activity to each other.
