The ESADD curriculum covers:
Addiction research topics
- Phenomenology, concepts, definitions and classifications of substance use and substance use disorders, historic developments
- Aetiology and natural course of substance use and substance use disorders
- Population-based and clinical epidemiology
- Treatment research and research on relapse processes and relapse prevention
- Prevention research
- Research on population based interventions (demand and supply reduction), public health issues
- Transfer/translational research
- Research methodology
Academic skills
- Preparing and presenting posters and speeches
- Writing manuscripts, manuscript reviews and research applications
- Publication guidelines (e.g. Consort and Quorum Statement)
- Ethical guidelines for research an publication related issues

Costs for the school
Subjected to funding all activities and accomodation is free of charge. Also travel costs up to 300€ per seminar week will be covered. Only the daily allowance have to be covered by yourself.
