Study requirements
Prerequisite:
• a first university degree in a science or engineering degree (e.g. in Hydrology, Meteorology, Geography, Geology, Chemistry, Biology, Water management, Construction engineering, Waste management and contaminated sites, Landscape architecture, Forestry and agricultural engineering, Environmental engineering or related study courses),
• English language skills at the C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (evidenced by a language certificate like TOEFL, IELTS, UNIcert®)
• proof of basic knowledge of Mathematics and the Natural sciences to be tested in an aptitude test
Registration for the aptitude assessment or the NC selection process as well as application for admission to a degree program
Your degree program requires you to take part in an aptitude assessment or selection process. To do this, you must have the following documents ready. You will be informed after your online application in which form and deadline the documents will be requested from you (by post or online). Please make sure that your application number, which was assigned to you when applying online, is indicated in your application documents. If you are unable to apply via the selma portal before the deadline, you don’t need to include your application number.
Degree-specific information and documents
• Application for Aptitude Assessment
• Copy of the original and officially certified translation (German or English) of the degree certificate of the required first university degree including official transcript of records. If the first university degree is not yet available: Confirmation from the first university that at least 80% of the work required for the current university degree programme has been completed, as well as information on the current average grade for degree programmes with entry restrictions (form on the Admission Office website
• Copy of certificates and documents that prove the particular expertise required
• CV in English with information on the professional career
• Letter of motivation in English
• English certificates C 1:
Proof there of is a relevant examination certificate or language certificate. These include:
- certificate of the general or subject-related university entrance qualification (Zeugnis der allgemeinen / fachgebundenen Hochschulreife) with an advanced course (Leistungskurs) in English (with level C1 indicated)
- certificate of the university entrance qualification completed entirely in English or certificate of a higher education degree completed entirely in English, and
- the following English certificates given as an example: TOEFL ibt 95 (New: 5.0),
IELTS (6.5 overall and 6.0 in each of the 4 test categories: reading, listening, speaking, writing), UNIcert III
