Green travel
Table of contents
Green travel doesn't just mean reducing your ecological footprint and using mostly environmentally friendly, sustainable and low-emission means of transportation to and from abroad, e.g. bike, long-distance bus, carpooling, train, kayak... You are often more relaxed on the road, save time and/or money, receive extra funding in the Erasmus program and definitely experience your trip much more consciously.
In order to make mobility and its impact on the environment as climate-friendly as possible, we recommend traveling less than 500 km by low-emission means of transport.
Want to find out how exciting decelerated travel can be? Then you'll find inspiration in Mathias' travel report, who traveled from Germany to Spain by bike.
Want to find out more about your ecological footprint? Then the calculator of the "Erasmus Goes Green" initiative, for example, offers a way to determine your footprint.
