From Dresden all around the globe!
Semesters, internships or language courses abroad - as a student you will definitely benefit from a stay abroad. You can improve your technical and language skills, forge new contacts, make friends, get to know other cultures and much more. To get an overview of the many different possibilities, take a look at our website. Maybe a look at our Partner Country of the Month might also be helpful for inspiration.
Which exchange programs can I use?
Every stay abroad includes the exchange place and the financing. Some programs, such as Erasmus+, already consist of both. If this is not the case, you have to take care of the exchange place and the financing individually.
-->OVERVIEW of all available exchange places<--
The following programs and cooperations will take you abroad:
-
ERASMUS+ IN EUROPE and WORLDWIDE: Currently, TU Dresden cooperates with more than 340 European and non-European universities in the Erasmus program. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to gain valuable experience abroad during your studies or doctorate. There are no tuition fees at the host university and you will receive a scholarship. With Erasmus worldwide you will also receive a travel allowance.
-
TUD worldwide: There are many central cooperations with universities all over the world. Through these partnerships you will usually save the tuition fees at the host university.
-
INTERNATIONAL FACULTY COOPERATIONS: Many chairs and institutes of the TU Dresden have specific cooperations with universities all over the world. Again, tuition fees at the host university are usually waived. For further information, please contact the respective professor of your faculty directly.
-
INTERNATIONAL INTERNSHIPS: The first contact point for internships abroad is the Leonardo Office Saxony. There you will receive free support: workshops, intercultural preparation courses, internship placement and support up to the awarding of scholarships. University groups such as AIESEC or IAESTE also offer extensive support.
-
In addition, there is always the possibility of an individually planned stay, which we will gladly help you plan.
How can I finance my stay abroad?
- PROMOS-SCHOLARSHIPS WORLDWIDE: The PROMOS program can support both study exchanges within the framework of partnerships worldwide (outside the ERASMUS area) and individually planned stays abroad. There are also scholarships for language and training courses abroad and for writing the final thesis.
- DAAD-SCHOLARSHIPS WORLDWIDE: At the German Academic Exchange Service you can apply for one-year study scholarships (all subjects from the 4th semester onwards). In addition, there are various special announcements (some from the 3rd semester onwards).
- OTHER SUPPORT POSSIBILITIES: Exchange programs and scholarships are often limited to certain countries, disciplines or even universities. We are happy to provide you with information regarding uni-external scholarship programs, such as the Auslands-BAföG, the Pädagogischer Austauschdienst (PAD) or the scholarships of the Fulbright Commission.
How do I apply?
Depending on the exchange program you have chosen, you apply to the respective subject coordinator of your faculty or to the Staff Unit International Affairs/International Office (SG Internationales/International Office). In some programs, the application for the exchange place is done within the faculty, but the application for funding is done centrally at the International Office. The respective contact persons, application modalities and deadlines can be found on the information pages of the various programs and cooperations.
Plan your stay abroad at least one year in advance!
Information events
In winter and in summer semester we offer different information events. Registration is not necessary.
