Advice and Information Sources
Table of contents
There are many possibilities and many ways to get information about staying abroad. Below we summarize the most important contact points for you.
At Technische Universität Dresden
- Technischen Universität Dresden's International Office
The International Office is the first point of contact for you when it comes to organizing a stay abroad. We will help you to find your way through the many possibilities. If you would like to get a general overview of the many different possibilities for a stay abroad, visit us during the open office hours of the Infocenter or come to one of our information events about studying abroad. If you already know that you want to go to a European partner university, you should get advice on the ERASMUS+ exchange program.
- ERASMUS-Initiative at TU Dresden
If you would like to get in touch with foreign students studying at TU Dresden before your stay abroad or to keep your language skills fresh after your stay abroad, you should come to the weekly regulars' table of the ERASMUS Initiative TU Dresden. Information about the initiative and its events can be found on their homepage. - Reports
Many students of the Technische Universität Dresden have already been abroad. Whether in Europe or worldwide, whether with a cooperation or individually organized, benefit from their experiences and look at individual reports in the portal. - Cultural events of the International Office:
The Cultural Office of the International Office offers students the opportunity to experience events together with international students of the TU Dresden. - Professors in the department:
In every faculty there are international representatives who are available as contact persons. In addition, you can also turn to the departmental advisors, especially if you have any questions regarding your subject.
Beyond Technische Universität Dresden
-
Studentenwerk Dresden
Accommodation, meals and financial support for students are regulated in a different way abroad than in Germany. Not every country has institutions such as the Studentenwerke in Germany that offer a wide range of services to help students with their studies. For this reason, the Studentenwerk Dresden would like to help you prepare well for studying abroad. If you have decided to study abroad, the Department of International Affairs of the Studentenwerk Dresden will gladly support you in your preparations and give you tips to plan your stay as well as possible. If you have further questions, please contact us directly: Matthieu Anatrella

Foreign Universities
The homepages of the universities can be found via search engines. There are university lists that show universities sorted by countries and continents. Some of them even offer the possibility to search for specific courses of study and universities. Some university lists are for example www.hobsons.com or also www.petersons.com. Further links can be found on the DAAD homepage. - TUD regional ambassadors:
The TUD Regional Ambassadors will also give you help and information about the conditions in your host country. These TU graduates offer themselves as contact persons and first contacts in the respective country in order to facilitate the start on site or to establish contacts. - Embassies and cultural institutes
Many embassies and cultural institutes offer special information for studies and/or internships (or work stays) in the respective country. The addresses are easiest to find via search engines on the Internet. - DAAD:
Detailed information about the DAAD scholarship programs, country-specific information as well as an extensive bookmark list with links to pages with further information about studying and internships abroad can be found at the German Academic Exchange Service.
