Study Abroad in Taiwan - Semiconductor Talent Incubation Program

Would you like to gain unique insights into cutting-edge production and research in the semiconductor industry and acquire important skills for your professional career? Then apply for the "Semiconductor Talent Incubation Program" in Taiwan. The Saxon-Taiwanese program is a joint initiative of the Free State of Saxony, TU Dresden and TSMC. It includes a study program and practical training at TSMC, a global leader in the semiconductor sector.
What we offer
The six-month Semiconductor Talent Incubation Program combines a study program in the semiconductor sector with practical training at TSMC. From March to June 2025, you will study at a Taiwanese university. The course program consists of TSMC semiconductor modules.
Following your coursework at National Taiwan University, you will complete two months of hands-on training at the Newcomer Training Center & Fab at TSMC (Taichung) from July to August. You can receive up to 30 ECTS credits for the entire program.
In addition to the tuition and program fees, the selected candidates will receive a living allowance of EUR 700.00 per month and a travel allowance of EUR 1,500.00 for living expenses in Taiwan. Accommodation is provided, but must be paid for by the participants themselves.

What you bring with you
You are enrolled in an MA degree program or in the third year of your BA degree program at one of the participating Saxon universities. If you are enrolled in a diploma program and have completed at least half of your coursework, you are also eligible to participate.
Your English language skills are at B2 level (CEFR).
This program is open to students pursuing a degree in a STEM subject. Eligible subjects include:
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Science
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Microelectronic Engineering
- Nanoelectronics
- Materials science
- Programming, automation, robotics
- Circuit design
- Machine learning

Online application
You will need to upload the following documents for the online application:
- CV in English
- Letter of motivation (1-2 pages) in English
- Transcript of records from the university
- Proof of English language proficiency at level B2 (CEFR)
