Are you studying electrical engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, or energy engineering and want to get off to a successful start in your studies?
We’re here to support you!
The first few semesters of college often bring many challenges: demanding exams, a heavy workload, questions about how to organize your studies, or even doubts about whether the degree program you’ve chosen is really the right one. You’re not alone in this.
With the “Durchstarten: Energy-Mentoring by NET e.V.” mentoring program, we support students in the above-mentioned degree programs at the TUD Dresden University of Technology and the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg during their first four semesters as they successfully navigate their daily academic life, find their own path through their studies, and develop viable career options for the future.
We will begin our first mentoring session in mid-October 2026. Space is limited. The registration deadline is Friday, September 25, 2026.
We are a network of universities and leading companies in the energy sector. As members of the nonprofit association Network Energy Talents , we work together to create opportunities to connect young STEM talents early on and support them in their studies and career planning.

After a kick-off session, we’ll pair you for approximately 6 months with an experienced specialist or manager from our network—someone who has successfully completed their studies in your field and is now well-established in their career—as part of a mentoring partnership.
During three in-person meetings, you’ll have the opportunity to discuss any topics currently on your mind. This way, you’ll benefit from your mentor’s experience and can address key challenges in a trusting environment while developing solutions. In addition to the mentoring, we offer two empowerment workshops on the strategic use of digital tools for self-management, effective time management, and tips for a successful job application process. A peer meeting with the other program participants for personal exchange and individual reflection, as well as a workplace tour, round out our program.

We’ll cover the costs of your participation, including any necessary travel or lodging expenses for your workplace visit.
