Industry get-togethers ("BRANCHENTREFF")
Julia Rothe, HR, Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology
"The events offer companies the opportunity to get in touch with motivated students and to discuss subject-related matters such as career opportunities. Compared to a normal trade fair, the industry get-togethers have the unique advantage that only the target audience is present and thus the get-together is concentrated. The Speed Pitching Sessions enable students to get an idea of the respective companies before the actual start of the event, making it easier for them to get into conversation. The fact that the event is closed or requires registration ensured that only interested and motivated students actually participate. I liked the well-rounded mix of different study programmes and the fact that a wide range of students were present – from curious first-year students to focused graduates. I had the impression that the discussions helped students who were still coming to grips with everything because my colleagues were able to slip into a kind of mentoring role and give valuable tips on the general structure of their studies. The organisation (facilities, communication beforehand, food and drinks, assistance on the day of the event, signposting) also made a crucial contribution to the success of the event and gave it a professional yet relaxed character. I am looking forward to the next industry get-together – we will gladly participate again."
Dr. Lars Lobbedey, Business Development Manager Health Food, SGS INSTITUT FRESENIUS
"The industry get-together for food chemistry 2012 at TU Dresden was an important event for the SGS INSTITUT FRESENIUS. As part of the SGS Group – a global leader in the fields of testing, verification and certification – we are always looking for young food chemists. Furthermore, the event is a good platform to publicize our brand SGS. We look forward to being part of this industry get-together in the years to come and to the exciting and interesting networking that it entails."
Dr. Norbert Thyssen, Infineon Dresden
"Infineon profited from the direct and goal-oriented contact with interested students of the fields relevant to us at this Career Service event of TU Dresden. These are three words I would use to describe the microelectronics industry get-together: Easy - direct – efficient."
Katharina Oedemann, B. Braun Melsungen AG
"Many thanks again for the pleasant afternoon at TU Dresden for the industry get-together for production. The combination of an opportunity to present our company in the vicinity with targeted contact with interested students from relevant fields is very advantageous for us as a company. We felt very welcome and are looking forward to coming back".
Johannes Hummel, Sauels AG
"Thank you very much for a very successful and most interesting event! In the future, we hope to cooperate more closely with TU Dresden".
Dr. Martin Tschinkl, Advanced Mask Technology Center (AMTC)
"We were able to showcase our company in the best light at the microelectronics industry get-together. The fields of study of the students who approached us matched the demands of our company very well."
Kristina Schumann, Eurofins GmbH
"This was a perfect event for us! It was the best recruiting event for our intended audience so far. Thank you! We would be happy to come back to TU Dresden."
Julia Heil, Personnel Manager Wala Heilmittel GMBH
"The time schedule of the industry get-together was very convenient and gave us plenty of time to present our company. We achieved even more than the goals we set ourselves for this event."
Winfried Oelmann, Head of the Executive Board Office of the Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe AG
"We have participated in the crossover project for the first time, but certainly not for the last time. The premiere was a resounding success. We were impressed by the specialist knowledge, efficient working methods and excellent preparation thanks to the previous workshops. The results of the project are impressive and will be incorporated into our work. I think the students enjoyed it as well."
Thorsten Buchert, HR Marketing, Carl Zeiss AG
"In the case studies, we were able to present Carl Zeiss as an exciting, versatile employer. But above all, we had the opportunity to meet impressive, excellently trained engineers from TU Dresden."
Silvia Belinda Müller, Dresden Intervention and Coordination Centre for Combating Domestic Violence
"Thank you for inviting us to present our project at the Career Service. It was very interesting and exciting to be able to get in touch with students and other institutions".
