Closing ceremony of the mentoring program for female students and new run this year
On December 4, the closing ceremony of the new mentoring program for female students and early career researchers took place in the Fritz-Foerster-Bau. The 28 program participants and 8 female researchers received a certificate for their successful participation during the ceremony. The program is financed by equal opportunity funds from DFG-coordinated programs.
Launched in spring 2024, the program supports and promotes female students who are interested in a career in science. Components of the program are peer mentoring, exchange formats with young female scientists as well as workshops and discussion rounds on the topic of women’s careers in science.
We would like to thank Katharina Ulbrich, who introduced the opportunities the Graduate Academy of the TU Dresden offers at the closing event. A doctorate is the first step into academia after graduation. In addition, the participants were in active exchange with the DFG-coordinated programs, including das CeTi, ct.qmat, SFB 248, CPEC and SFB 1415.
A particular success of the mentoring program is the establishment of an active network with other female students and young female scientists, in which experiences and different perspectives related to science can be shared in the future. These connections will not only contribute to a personal exchange, but also promote individual professional development and thus provide a basis for future collaboration. By establishing an alumni network in 2024, the participants will continue to exchange ideas and thus receive impulses for their professional careers.
Are you interested in participating in the program as a student studying a STEM subject at TU Dresden? We would be happy to support you in your personal and professional development in science.
Our new course starts in April 2024.
