At the beginning of last week, 19 international alumni from 18 countries, all Regional Ambassadors (RB) for the TU Dresden, returned home to their “Alma Mater” for three days. Participants joyfully commemorated both the 15th anniversary of the program, and discussed strategies for refreshing and strengthening it for the future. This included a discussion with TUD Rector Prof. Ursula M. Staudinger, as well as meetings with other international stakeholders of the university and Dresden Marketing. In workshops, they worked out an action plan for the coming months on how to support connections between the university and their countries.

The intensification of the RB program is part of the EXU measure "Expansion of International Alumni Work", which is realized by the Alumni Office. Many dedicated alumni are available to answer inquiries in 95 countries. As contact persons in their home countries, they contribute to increasing the worldwide visibility of TUD. They also provide information about life and studies in Dresden.

The founding of the International Alumni Council in spring 2023 was a first step towards program expansion. This "board" of the RB advises the alumni office, works out the programmatic content of each year’s alumni week, and assists with participant selection. Each councilmember oversees a regional area of the RB, and interacts with them independently.
