Experienced women from the STEM sector wanted as mentors
Mentoring is considered one of the most effective tools for sharpening professional goals and strategically planning the next career steps. This is exactly where the TUD mentoring program WISE - Women in Science and Engineering comes in. For the next round, we are looking for experienced women from the STEM field who would like to contribute their knowledge and experience as mentors.
As part of WISE, mentors accompany a female student over a period of around eight months in her professional and personal orientation. Three to four personal meetings are planned in or outside of working hours, which can take place flexibly online or in person. The focus is on topics such as career entry, application strategies, salary negotiations, work-life balance and self-marketing. At the same time, the exchange offers space to reflect on current trends and challenges in the respective industry.
The commitment also offers clear added value for the mentors themselves: new perspectives and impulses through the dialog with the next generation of female engineers or scientists, the strengthening of leadership and consulting skills in a targeted manner and the exchange within a growing women's network at TU Dresden.
The kick-off of the program is planned for mid-April, the conclusion will take place at the beginning of December.
