The advancement scholarship for students with professional experience

The online application for the Advancement Scholarship – the Study Grant for Experienced Professionals – is now open again. Prospective students and students can apply for an Advancement Scholarship until December 1, 2025.

The scholarship program of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research supports skilled workers with vocational training and several years of practical experience in their first academic university studies. Detailed information can be found at https://www.sbb-stipendien.de/aufstiegsstipendium.

Funding

For full-time students, the scholarship amounts to €992 per month plus €80 for books (i.e., a total of €1,072). In addition, there is a childcare allowance for children under the age of 14 (€160 for each child). The funding is provided as a lump sum and is therefore not means-tested.
