Student Life and Welfare
Studying is one part of your life.
Apart from going to the lecture theatre, the library and the lab, you will certainly have a string of other needs.
You can find answers to questions such as:
- What do I live on?
- Where can I live?
- What do I do in my free time? etc.
in this section, which, by the way, makes no claim to be exhaustive.

Tips
Your situation in life can change, causing you to look for suitable contacts to help with the new challenges you face. Offers of support from various institutions are available for the most varied of problems.
Student involvement in university committees or in artistic, social or political initiatives is strongly encouraged. You will find numerous appropriate opportunities for such involvement at TUD.
Bored in your free time? Not an issue in Dresden. This student city provides an inexhaustible range of activities. Whatever floats your boat, there’s a playground for everyone – creative, artistic, sporty. Have fun as you discover, give it a go and enjoy.
And then in the evening, the student clubs open their doors. They are a great place for celebrating with friends, having a chat or listening to a concert. There are 13 student clubs in Dresden alone, making the city the secret “capital of student clubs”.
