Die BüHNE plays again
From an experimental, one of the theme known, great to a revival, the STAGE - the theater of the TU Dresden offers this winter semester a rich program under the season motto "Gamification". In November, the stage will show, among other things, an interactive online play that prompts vital decisions (LEBENSWERT?!), the long-awaited premiere of MOMO OFFLINE and STAR TO PARADISE. But the stage's schedule also already offers a preview of December.
VALUE OF LIFE?!
BY GEORG SCHMIDT AND JULIA HEIDE
(WORLD PREMIERE)
5 NOV (premiere) ■ 6 NOV ■ 7 NOV ■ 8.15 p.m.
Online (info via: die-buehne.tu-dresden.de).
YOUR THEATER EXPERIENCE AT HOME
In the mood for extreme entertainment, but want to stay seated on your comfy sofa? Then you've come to the right place: to the completely new online show from DIE BÜHNE. Nine people find themselves in a mysterious prison. They have only one chance to escape and return to their old lives - survive as protagonists of a bizarre game show on the Internet. In it, they argue about virtues, system relevance, families, religious affiliations, and try to justify their survival to you, the judging audience at the screens. With each round, the show stage becomes emptier and the judgment of life and death more impossible. Be a part of it too!
"Value of Live?!" is a play development that dealt with the role development of the "candidates" in the rehearsal process. In the performance, the players improvise according to their developed roles - the play will be experienced as a theater livestream online only. All spectators must participate in the votes on "life and death" in order to continue watching the play.
MOMO OFFLINE
- A project by DIE BÜHNE - the theater of the TU Dresden on "Momo" by Michael Ende
19 NOV (premiere), 8 p.m. ■ 20 NOV, 7:30 p.m. ■ 21 NOV, 7:30 p.m.
Labortheater of the HfbK (Güntzstraße)
Michael Ende published his novel "Momo - the strange story of the time thieves and of the child who brought back the stolen time" in 1973. 48 years have passed since then. The content has remained red-hot. Its lyrics have lost none of their validity. What once seemed surreal through a child's eyes now describes the reality of life for many: it's getting tight in the chest due to self-optimization and multitasking. Slick surfaces get more attention than the person himself. NO ONE MORE THERE describes the turtle Cassiopeia this tricky situation. So what now? Take time to go offline and to the theater with Momo!
After 1 1/2 years, the project Momo Offline finally finds its way to the stage. The reason is well known. In a text version based on the novel, the ensemble slips into the characters and plays out the story from today's perspective for people 14 and older.
STAR TO PARADISE
BY KARLA SCHRÖDER
26 NOV ■ 27 NOV ■ 28 NOV ■ 10 DEZ ■ 11 DEZ ■ 8:15 p.m.
DIE BÜHNE - the theater of the TU Dresden
Patrick, a pessimistic pro-gamer who spends too much time on misogynistic internet forums, ends up in an online casting show for entry into paradise during the global pollen crisis.
Patrick grew up in a time when feminist power structures ensured that the rationing of womenfolk - which had stood the test of time for millennia - was undermined and replaced by the libidinous immorality of Tinder. Paradise is the only way for Patrick to escape his depressing and involuntarily virginal existence. Confronted with his own sins and the entertainment-notorious show format, Patrick struggles not only against his two opponents, but also with his own worldview.
"Star to Paradise" is a tragicomedy about a young man who sees himself as a loser of women's equality and the world of the "incels", an ever-growing internet subculture of heterosexual men who live in involuntary celibacy.
