THURINGIA - WEEKEND TRIP INTO GERMAN HISTORY
This summer term our weekend trip from May 10th to 13th* takes you to Thuringia, on the traces of German history. We will get up on the Wartburg where Martin Luther translated the New Testament into German 500 years ago. Afterwards we go down into the depth of a salt mine not far away from the federal state capital Erfurt. There we will marvel at the greatest and best preserved medieval city centre in Europe during a guided city walk. Once in Thuringia we should not miss out on a trip to Weimar! The city is known world-wide for its culture, arts and music. This includes “Weimar Classicism”, represented by the two famous poets Goethe and Schiller, but also the beginning of modern design by the “Bauhaus” school of arts.
