University-Wide Inaugural Lecture

Professor Elizabeth von Hauff
On December 15, aerospace expert Prof. Sabine Roller will explain her research. Since 2021, she holds the professorship for Software Methods for Product Virtualization at the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of the Faculty of Computer Science at TU Dresden. At the same time, she is Institute Director of the Aeronautics Research Division at the German Aerospace Center.
Her academic career led the KIT graduate to Siegen, Stuttgart and RWTH Aachen, among others. Honors such as the Specialist Teaching Award of the State of Baden-Würtemberg or the Amelia Earhart Fellowship Award underline Prof. Roller's commitment as well as her consulting activities for the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the EU.
In her inaugural lecture " Software Methods for the Virtual Product " she will present software building blocks for a virtual aircraft: from flow, structural mechanics, noise development to board electronics. After building this virtual machine, the lecture moves to the operational phase with deployment, evaluation and maintenance.
The lecture will be held in English and will be accompanied by a reception, which will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas with Prof.in Roller.
