Study requirements
In order to be accepted into the programme, you must have obtained a first university degree that qualifies you for a profession or a degree or qualification from a university or state/state-approved university of cooperative education that is recognised in Germany in the field of hydrology, hydroscience, engineering or a comparable degree programme. In addition, you must have:
• A minimum of 30 credit points from courses in maths, physics, chemistry and/or hydrochemistry, biology, hydrobiology, computer science, hydrocomputing or geocomputing, and
• A minimum of 50 credit points from courses in hydrology, meteorology, water management, domestic water supply, water supply, sewage systems, industrial water management, groundwater management, water quality, limnology, hydrometry, and
• A minimum of 35 credit points from other courses in engineering such as waste management, contaminated site treatment, redevelopment technology, engineering mechanics, hydromechanics, hydraulic engineering, river engineering, soil mechanics or geodesy.

English language at the B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is required. Proof of the required English language skills is provided by means of a relevant examination certificate or language certificate. This can take the form of:
- Certificate of general or subject-specific university entrance qualification that serves as evidence of having learned English as a foreign language (B2 GER)
- Certificate of higher education entrance qualification taken entirely in English or certificate of higher education entrance qualification taken entirely in English or
- Proof of a recognized English test e.g. IELTS: 5.5; TOEFL ibt 72 (New: 4.0); UNIcert II)

Registration for the aptitude assessment or the NC selection process as well as application for admission to a degree program
Your degree program requires you to take part in an aptitude assessment or selection process. To do this, you must have the following documents ready. You will be informed after your online application in which form and deadline the documents will be requested from you (by post or online). Please make sure that your application number, which was assigned to you when applying online, is indicated in your application documents. If you are unable to apply via the selma portal before the deadline, you don’t need to include your application number.
Degree-specific information and documents
• Application for the suitability assessment on the website of the faculty
• Copy of the original and officially certified translation (German or English) of the degree certificate of the required first university degree including official transcript of records. If the first university degree is not yet available: Confirmation from the first university that at least 80% of the work required for the current university degree programme has been completed, as well as information on the current average grade for degree programmes with entry restrictions (form on the Admission Office website
• Officially authenticated certificates and documents that prove the particular expertise required
