Study requirements
• University degree in economics, political science or law, or one with a concentration in these disciplines, or a qualification from an officially recognized vocational academy in Germany in the fields of International Policy, International Law or Economics
• English proficiency level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
• Proof of special aptitude according to the aptitude assessment regulations
Aptitude assessment as an application prerequisite
Applicants must have taken part in the aptitude assessment procedure prior to application submission. The aptitude assessment procedure is organized by the Center for International Studies (ZIS). You can find detailed information on participating in the aptitude assessment procedure on the ZIS homepage
German language requirements
International applicants and German applicants with a foreign university entrance qualification are kindly advised to read the requirements for German-language courses.
Registration for the aptitude assessment or the NC selection process as well as application for admission to a degree program
Your degree program requires you to take part in an aptitude assessment or selection process. To do this, you must have the following documents ready. You will be informed after your online application in which form and deadline the documents will be requested from you (by post or online). Please make sure that your application number, which was assigned to you when applying online, is indicated in your application documents. If you are unable to apply via the selma portal before the deadline, you don’t need to include your application number.

The following documents must be uploaded as attachments to your application for the aptitude assessment procedure by May 31st:
• Application for aptitude assessment stating the chosen specialization.
• Copy of the original and officially certified translation (German or English) of the degree certificate of the required first university degree including official transcript of records. If the first university degree is not yet available: Confirmation from the first university that at least 80% of the work required for the current university degree programme has been completed, as well as information on the current average grade for degree programmes with entry restrictions (form on the Admission Office website
• Proof of English language skills B2 GER
• Letter of motivation (max. 2 pages)
• Curriculum vitae in tabular form
