Fire Protection
The primary objective of fire protection at TU Dresden is to avoid the outbreak of fires, thereby minimising the risk to employees, students and guests, the material assets of our university or the environment. Preventative fire protection includes structural fire protection. This includes all precautionary measures that ensure effective firefighting (defensive fire protection) in order to keep the extent of the damage to a minimum.
The fire protection assistants and the other employees of our office advise and support the superiors and fire protection assistants in all matters of organisational fire protection whilst coordinating the cooperation of the operational team with the Fire and Disaster Protection Office Dresden. TU Dresden is one of the few universities in German that has an operational fire brigade. Extinguishing and evacuation exercises as well as fire protection inspections are carried out cooperatively.
