WE-CARE Point of Contact
TU Dresden is socially committed to maintaining a cosmopolitan university community. We are firmly committed to the freedom of research and teaching and to helping students and researchers under threat as well as other people in distress, in order to provide targeted aid when it comes to studies, teaching and research wherever it is within the realm of the university's ability to do so. This commitment is more crucial now than ever before, in particular with a view to current developments in Ukraine, Belarus and Afghanistan, just to name a few examples. There are already a number of individual initiatives and opportunities for support, at the university as well as across the whole city, which we would like to connect to each other and make more visible.
The effects of the earthquake in the Turkish-Syrian border region are devastating and difficult to comprehend. We feel for the victims, for our students, employees and partners and their families. Students can find Psycho-social Counseling at the Studentenwerk. You can find further information here.
Donations are being collected through Aktion Deutschland Hilft and Unicef .
The WE-CARE contact point is run by the Vice-Rectorate University Culture and the Directorate University Culture and is aimed at:
- International students and researchers as well as staff at TU Dresden who feel attacked, threatened or otherwise discriminated against, and those from crisis regions who are looking for help or solutions
- All those who would like to get involved and offer their assistance
- receive information on advisory and support contacts as well as service centers that can assist you with your request
- can report your own specific offers of help.
With the we-care-engagement mailing list you stay up to date about the commitment of TU Dresden and concrete offers and requests for help. Here you will find the opportunity to get involved in supporting students and scientists at risk or their family members.
